A month after the previous 6.19 release, KDE announced the launch of Frameworks 6.20, expanding its collection of add-on libraries to Qt and enhancing functionality available to developers across various platforms.
Krita looks so bad on my PC due to me wanting to use a custom colour scheme. I prefer my Qt apps to match, so it’s pissing me off that a KDE app uses its own fuckery. (I’m using the flatpak, but my other flatpaked Qt apps are matching, such as Prism Launcher on the bottom of my screeenshot). I’ve got dark elements on dark elements, and ugh it’s so bad…
This week something that I know a lot of people have been wanting for a long time was implemented: the ability to limit virtual desktops to only the primary screen! Thanks very much to Kristen McWilliam for this long-awaited feature, which arrives in Plasma 6.6.
Is there a way to automatically switch on dark mode like you can turn on night light? Or is it necessary to open the system settings app every time and switch it by hand? I searched around in the system settings but did not find anything about that? Is this a planned feature for a future release or is there a plugin?

At first Instead of my SDDM I would just see an after image of what was last displayed on screen. But if I typed in my password and pressed enter, it would let me in just fine. Then after following some suggestions from users in r/Kubuntu I’ve made a bit of progress. Now when I boot up my computer instead of the SDDM being invisible, it now doesn’t load at all, from there I switch to tty3 then back to tty2 and then log in through the terminal. After that I run startplasma-wayland and then I have access to my desktop.

I got an email on Tuesday from the FSF that today was I love free software day, so I decided to make some art in appreciation of a community responsible for creating and maintaining so many wonderful programs! Thank you dearly to KDE for all that you do. As an artist, I use Krita so often for all sorts of things, and I am so grateful it exists.
My touchpad often runs out of physical surface when, say, I want to drag’n’drop a file. When my finger reaches the side of the touchpad before the mouse pointer gets to where it should be I have to cancel and start again with more momentum. In Windows when this happens and I don’t lift my finger the mouse pointer continues to travel slowly in the same direction. In case I missed it, is there a setting in KDE Plasma 6 enabling that behaviour?

Hi. I am relatively new to linux and even newer to KDE. I just discovered Activities and it seems like a tool that will be just about what I was looking for to keep school work separated from my regular tasks. I have two things that I would like to change but I don't know if it is possible. Maybe someone could help. I would appreciate it.

"This Week in Plasma" brings the news that System Settings' pages become "smart" and can mark themselves as "not relevant" if, for example, you do not have the hardware to use them. They can also export actions to the sidebar, allowing you to quickly toggle devices on and off. And Discover can now be opened directly from Install buttons on FlatHub.
All the icons in the world and I really didn't like any of them for an app launcher. I'm using this with the dashboard on the icons only task manager but it looks alright with the application launcher as well. I built it using the base of the Konsole terminal icon, adjusted shadows and added the little rounded blocks. Also got the padding just about right to match them in size - at least in my setup.
After you manage to run the installing program and it fails, please try pkcon updating BEFORE you restart. You may encounter an error with a library (i don't remember its name) that needs to be removed and pkcon has to finish the updates, or your plasma will be broken and you'll be stuck in text-based OS fixing the same problem, except you can't use internet or anything on the same device. Managing it with Konsole while booted helps a lot.
Overall, a pretty good impression from KDE Linux #kdelinux . Everything I tried works smoothly. The only hiccup, the user is not a member of audio group by default, so it needed tweaking to make Milkytracker work. Now my kid is testing Roblox and it's quite smooth, as much as the old laptop allows it.

How can I login automatically on Fedora 42 KDE 6.4.3?
Some websites say about going to settings/startup shutdown... but I don't seem to have those settings at all?
I need dates! Here in the pic an example on how I enjoy and order my digital collection. (I have a more detail date when I'm playing the album but for general view the only og year is enough)
Also, I've noticed Elisa didn't order correctly albums in the same year, it probably ignore months? MusicBrainz tags have an "original date" field for this cases.

I received a GPU to replace my GTX 1080.
It is an RX 9060 XT pulse, when i tried to install it it didn't work on an Ubuntu version with plasma added later. I did install kubuntu 25.04 because I thought that the issue was with the OS. Though it didn't worked unfortunately, I tried to update the kernel to 6.15 and update mesa drivers. What is weird is that I tried multiple commands and I got it working multiple times, though it didn't stuck, it seems like the AMD GPU drivers is not running.
Does anyone have a similar issue ? I'm about to reinstall windows to check if it's not the graphic card that is wrong but it's me.

I installed the Akregator rss reader with the idea of filtering feeds (I don't want to see myself in a feed source I regularly contribute to) but the section responsible for this in the settings in missing ( https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/akregator/akregator/adblock-tab.html vs screenshot attached ). There is also a page for installing plugins that doesn't do anything (I cant see, search or install anything). Any idea on what could be the issue ? (Do I need Konquorer installed ? ) (Running the latest version on Arch)
