I really love that Bo Burnham song about country songs, ever since I heard that it’s all I can hear when listening to country now. So many of the popular country songs follow that format almost exactly, it’s insane…
My favorite Country song is “God Gives Head in Heaven ” by the Swedish death metal band Aeon.

My pleasure. My favourite story about sharing this is a guy that I worked with who listened to country and liked to play jokes on his S/O. His eyes lit up and he had a look of pure joy on his face when he heard the song. And I quote “She’s not going to know what is going on when she hears this!”.
But what about mouthwash?
There’s like 3-4 songs getting beat to death on the radio right now where the dude is getting cucked. It’s weird.
How else are they gonna make the rural folk be okay with their nation getting fucked?

You might have it backwards. Spousal homicide was far more common when divorce wasn’t an option.

I don’t think conservatives are smart enough to understand consequences. Especially consequences that take more than one step to find.
The gym was playing some country last time I went, and the song was some guy saying: I did her wrong, and now she’s leaving me. The guy sounded genuinely regretful and acknowledged he was to blame. I don’t hear that in a lot of other genres.
meanwhile gothic/outlaw country is out here like “I’m going to kill a cop and then go fishing but then catch Satan himself and then everyone dies”
And “Idgaf if there’s a legion of demons, I have work to do and I ain’t gonna let them stop me.” And “my family is most important to me and if you don’t agree with that, do better”
So you can take his truck? I’ll never understand this genre.
