It is a skill I am working on developing. I’m used to being (probably overly) agreeable, but I’ve come to realize that a lot of people read that as weakness or naïveté and try to take advantage of it. I have a hard time threading the needle of being polite but firm though.

Yep it's really tough. Niceness is seen as an opportunity to some people, but when we're taught to be nice it's hard to not be!
