I think they see it as you rubbing your smell on them.

Exactly this. It's like rubbing your cheeks, but instead it's the mouth. Same difference.


It's similar and associated with affection like that, but that's cheek rubbing. Head kisses are closer to their head bonks which aren't scent related.

Time tondo the undulating snake manoeuvre to avoid said the kisses.



Probably depends on the cat but I imagine most of them understand that it's just the way you show affection.


My cat registers them as kisses for sure
